After several visits to COOK + FOX over the years (through my association with AP3D) I have just concluded several weeks of BIM consulting with the firm.

It is a pleasure to work with a firm that is a national leader in exhibiting “the highest standards of sustainability, and a commitment to excellence enriched by the collaborative process.” The firm is regularly recognized as a leader in sustainable design (recently, they designed the world’s first LEED Platinum office tower).

The firm has spent five years preparing for a BIM-implemented workflow. Perhaps one of the smartest moves they made was hiring my former H3 colleagues Katharine Ives and Chelsea Morar. (They’re two smart, accomplished women.) Meanwhile, I have visited the firm several times over those years to comment on their progress and identify places we could help.

This month I organized, customized, and lead a multi-day educational seminar to train several designers and a handful of managers in BIM workflows. The event was held at COOK FOX’s offices on the 8th Floor of their Sixth Avenue Building. Now they’re off designing more towers…
